Organised by Gwen Conlon and Breanndan Casey from the Connected Health & Wellbeing Cluster, the conference brought together healthcare professionals, health service providers, SMEs, students, researchers and technology experts to explore one of the most important challenges facing the healthcare sector today: Cybersecurity For Health.
Rather than simply talking about cyber threats, the Mini Digi Hub team created an immersive learning experience inside the Mobile Digital Lab.
The “Hacker Shack” provided visitors with a practical demonstration of ethical hacking techniques, showing how cybercriminals can exploit insecure networks and highlighting the importance of good cybersecurity practices.
Through live demonstrations, attendees gained a better understanding of topics such as Wi-Fi interception, network vulnerabilities and the simple steps organisations and individuals can take to better protect sensitive information.
The aim wasn’t to create fear—it was to build awareness and confidence through hands-on learning.

The event also highlighted the flexibility of the Mini Digi Hub’s Mobile Digital Lab.
Designed as a mobile digital innovation space, the MDL can be transformed to support a wide variety of educational experiences—from digital skills training and immersive technology demonstrations to cybersecurity awareness events like the Hacker Shack.
Its adaptable design makes it an ideal environment for engaging communities, businesses and public sector organisations with emerging technologies in an interactive and accessible way.

Healthcare organisations continue to face an increasingly complex cyber threat landscape, making awareness and education more important than ever.
Events like the Cybersecurity for Health Conference provide an invaluable opportunity for professionals to share knowledge, learn from experts and strengthen cyber resilience across the sector.
The Mini Digi Hub was delighted to support the conference and would like to thank Gwen Conlon, Breanndan Casey, the Connected Health & Wellbeing Cluster and everyone who visited the Hacker Shack throughout the day.
We look forward to continuing to deliver practical digital skills experiences that help organisations embrace technology safely, confidently and securely.
