The spirit of innovation and entrepreneurship was alive and well at the Meath Student Enterprise Awards, which took place on Monday, 3rd March 2026 at the Knightsbrook Hotel. The event was organised by Aofe Fegab and the team at Local Enterprise Office Meath and brought together some of the region’s brightest student entrepreneurs from Meath schools to celebrate creativity, business acumen and forward-thinking ideas.
The awards ceremony showcased an impressive range of student-led businesses, highlighting innovation across product design, sustainability, digital services and social enterprise. Students demonstrated exceptional confidence and professionalism as they presented their ideas, reflecting the strength of enterprise education in schools across County Meath.
A key highlight of the day was the presence of the Mobile Digital Lab (MDL), where students stepped into the world of immersive technology through a Virtual Reality experience. Equipped with Meta Quest 3 headsets, the MDL provided participants with an engaging, hands-on opportunity to explore how emerging technologies are transforming education, industry and enterprise.
The VR experience aligned perfectly with the entrepreneurial spirit of the event. Students explored immersive environments that demonstrated design thinking, innovation processes, and future-focused industries. For many, it was their first encounter with Virtual Reality, sparking curiosity about careers in technology, digital media and advanced manufacturing.
The integration of immersive technology into the Student Enterprise Awards reinforced an important message: innovation is not just about great ideas — it’s also about embracing the tools that will shape the future. The collaboration between the awards programme and the Mobile Digital Lab highlighted how digital transformation can empower the next generation of entrepreneurs.
Congratulations to all the students who participated in this year’s awards. The Meath Student Enterprise Awards 2026 proved to be a powerful celebration of creativity, ambition and the limitless potential of young entrepreneurs.
